This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension and assists in blood pressure control when adequate control is not achieved with monotherapy of Olmesartan Medoxomil or Hydrochlorothiazide. It is effective in improving hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer one tablet once daily. The dose may be adjusted based on the patient’s blood pressure response at intervals of 2-4 weeks. Elderly patients should start at the lowest dose and adjust cautiously considering kidney function, heart function, existing illnesses, and concomitant medications.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric populations have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, hence it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Those allergic to any components of this medication or with certain kidney and liver diseases should avoid taking it. Patients with sharply reduced blood pressure or fluid volume need to be carefully monitored before taking this medication as hypotension may occur.
