Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients in this medication, those receiving kidney dialysis, patients with severe liver impairment, those with biliary obstruction, and patients with lactose intolerance should not use this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume or low sodium may experience a sudden drop in blood pressure when starting this medication, so caution is necessary. Patients with weak kidney function should have regular check-ups of their kidney function and blood potassium levels. This medication is used for the treatment of high blood pressure and may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, abdominal pain, and muscle pain; however, these are generally mild and temporary. Prolonged use may lead to chronic diarrhea or intestinal dysfunction, so if symptoms persist, consultation with a doctor is necessary. Care should be taken when used in combination with other antihypertensive agents or potassium-sparing diuretics as there is a risk of elevated blood potassium levels. During pregnancy, this medication should not be taken as it can affect fetal kidney development, and if breastfeeding, one should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking this medication since it may be transmitted through breast milk. Safety in pediatric patients has not been established, so it is advisable not to use in children. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustments as drug metabolism may be slower. In case of overdose, symptoms such as low blood pressure or abnormal heart rhythms may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought if such symptoms arise.
