Improvement of essential hypertension
Essential hypertension plays an important role in controlling blood pressure within the normal range and reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. This medication lowers blood pressure and relieves the burden on the heart, helping to prevent complications. It is crucial to manage blood pressure stably through consistent use. Furthermore, it is more effective when used along with improvements in the patient's lifestyle habits. It is used in the treatment of essential hypertension.
The recommended initial adult dosage is 10 mg once daily, administered regardless of meals. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dosage may be increased to 20 mg once daily. If further blood pressure reduction is needed, the dosage may be titrated up to a maximum of 40 mg once daily. It is recommended to start treatment at lower doses in patients who may have reduced intravascular effective blood volume. In elderly patients (65 years and older), dosage adjustment is important.
The safety and efficacy in children have not been established.
