This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of Olmesartan Medoxomil or Hydrochlorothiazide.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is to be taken once daily with one tablet if blood pressure is not adequately controlled with individual components, regardless of meals. The dosage should be adjusted at intervals of 2-4 weeks according to the patient's blood pressure response. Elderly patients should start with the lowest dose and care should be taken in adjusting the dosage considering kidney function, heart function, etc.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established, thus dosing is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who have an allergy to any of the ingredients in this medication, or those with certain kidney and liver diseases, hyponatremia, hypokalemia, or hypercalcemia should not take this medication. Patients at risk for a sudden drop in blood pressure, those with impaired kidney function, or certain heart conditions should use this medication with caution, and blood pressure and kidney function should be regularly monitored during treatment. This medication can affect potassium levels in the blood, so potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics should be monitored carefully when taken together. When taken with other antihypertensives, certain diuretics, or NSAIDs, the efficacy of the medication may change, so it is important to consult with a physician before use. During the course of this medication, symptoms such as dizziness or drowsiness may occur, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. Skin sensitivity to sunlight may increase, raising the risk of skin cancer; thus, reducing sun exposure and taking protective measures is advisable. Nursing women should discontinue breastfeeding or consult a physician as this medication can be transmitted through breast milk and affect the baby. The safety of this medication in children has not been established, thus it is preferable not to use it in pediatric patients. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as low blood pressure and electrolyte imbalance may occur, and immediate medical assistance should be sought.
