Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have a history of allergic reactions to its ingredients. While taking this medication, mental and nervous system symptoms such as headaches, anxiety, depression, eye twitching, dizziness, and excessive movements may occur. It may affect the digestive system, leading to potential symptoms including nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, abdominal pain, jaundice, and rarely vomiting, mouth ulcers, enteritis, esophagitis, gastritis, abdominal distension, constipation, and loss of appetite. Skin-related symptoms may include rash, tearing, excessive sweating, itching, and hives. Rarely, blood-related abnormalities such as anemia, skin bleeding spots, prolonged blood clotting time, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia can occur. In the respiratory system, symptoms such as nasal inflammation may occur occasionally, and rarely, pharyngitis, nosebleeds, and shortness of breath. In women, symptoms of vaginitis may appear. There may occasionally be allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to light, requiring caution. There may be changes to vision and hearing, with rare occurrences of conjunctivitis, tinnitus, optic neuritis, decreased vision, and retinal hemorrhage. This medication weakly inhibits blood clotting, so patients at risk of bleeding should perform blood tests prior to surgery or when in high-risk bleeding conditions. Patients with a history of thrombocytopenia should be particularly careful while taking this medication. Patients with liver or spleen diseases should use this medication cautiously, as its metabolism and effect may vary. Long-term use of this medication may result in temporary increases in liver function test values, although most are unrelated to symptoms and transient. There have also been reports of prolonged blood clotting times or decreased platelet counts in blood tests. Using this medication alongside heparin may lead to hair loss, primarily manifested as circular hair loss on parts of the scalp. This medication affects the blood clotting process, inhibiting thrombus formation, which may alter blood clotting tests. Rarely, long-term use can lead to a condition called pigmentary maculopathy, requiring regular eye examinations; if vision abnormalities occur, consideration should be given to discontinuing use. No significant problems were found in animal experiments during pregnancy, but safety in humans is not assured; it should only be used when the benefits outweigh the risks. It is uncertain whether this medication is secreted in breast milk, so use with caution while breastfeeding. It is advisable not to use in children under 16 years, as safety and efficacy have not been established.
