This medication is used as an adjunct therapy for controlling moderate to severe pain. It also has antipyretic effects, helping to lower fever. Therefore, it is effective in managing both pain relief and fever simultaneously.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Adults can be administered up to a maximum of 3200 mg per day. (1) Adjunct therapy for controlling moderate to severe pain (with morphine): Adults (17 years and older): Intravenous administration of 400 mg-800 mg as needed every 6 hours. This drug may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke in patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors. During treatment, close monitoring is required for symptoms such as hypertension or heart function abnormalities; if abnormal symptoms appear, medical consultation should be sought immediately. It can cause serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation; therefore, extra caution is necessary in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases or the elderly. This drug should not be used in patients with gastrointestinal problems, and it is also safer not to administer it to patients with severely impaired blood, liver, kidney, or heart functions. Patients with a history of asthma or allergies, especially those who have had hypersensitivity reactions to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, should not use this medication. It should be avoided during the late stages of pregnancy as it may be hazardous to the fetus; patients undergoing chemotherapy should also refrain from using this drug. Before use, a thorough evaluation of the patient's condition is required, and blood pressure, liver function, kidney function, blood tests, and monitoring of adverse reactions should be performed regularly as needed. Moreover, it is advisable not to take this drug with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and to consult medical staff regarding potential interactions if taken with aspirin, anticoagulants, ACE inhibitors, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, etc. Serious adverse symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, severe headache, visual disturbances, sudden swelling, etc., that may arise during treatment should prompt immediate cessation of the drug and a visit to a medical facility. In the case of overdose, symptoms such as dizziness, vomiting, abdominal pain, renal failure, difficulty in breathing, and decreased blood pressure may occur; therefore, strict adherence to the recommended dosage is essential, and immediate emergency treatment should be sought if overdose is suspected. For the elderly, dosage adjustments and careful observation may be necessary due to potential declines in physical function. Pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult medical staff before using this medication, as it may affect the fetus or infant.
