This medication is used to treat myocardial ischemia resulting from hypertension, stable angina, and variant angina. Additionally, it helps reduce the risk of hospitalization due to angina in patients who have recently been confirmed to have coronary artery disease through angiography, as well as in patients who do not have heart failure or a left ventricular ejection fraction below 40%. As a result, it is effective in improving the treatment and management of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The oral dosage of Esamlodipine is 2.5 mg once daily, and it can be increased up to a maximum of 5 mg daily depending on the patient's response. Adjust according to age and symptoms. Take with ample water.

Child dose

The oral dosage of Esamlodipine for effective blood pressure lowering is 1.25 mg to 2.5 mg once daily. Doses exceeding 2.5 mg per day in pediatric patients have not been studied. Take with adequate water.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug, any of its components, or similar classes of drugs. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should not take this medication. There may be dizziness or drowsiness, so caution is advised when driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication can interact with several other drugs, so it is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications. Especially, grapefruit juice may enhance the effect of this medication, so it is best to avoid it. The safety of this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been established, so it should be avoided during those times. It is to be used only in children aged 6 years and older, and elderly patients may experience higher drug concentrations, so start with a lower dose and use it cautiously. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac abnormalities may occur, so seek medical attention immediately.
