Precautions

This medicine should be used with caution by women in the first three months of pregnancy or those who may become pregnant, as taking more than 5,000 IU of vitamin A per day may pose a risk of congenital malformations to the fetus. Patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease with unknown cause), and kidney disease should not take this medicine. Individuals allergic to this medicine or its components, infants under 3 months, and patients with kidney stones should also avoid taking it. It is advisable not to take this medicine simultaneously with levodopa. Infants under 1 year, patients currently undergoing treatment, children who are exposed to a lot of sunlight, those with hyperoxaluria, pregnant or nursing women, premature infants, and young children should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. In particular, pregnant women in the early stages should limit their intake of vitamin A to below 5,000 IU, and caution is needed as vitamin D can cause hypercalcemia in newborns through breast milk. Patients with gout or a history of kidney stones should also consult a professional before taking this medicine. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, itchy skin, dry and rough skin, joint swelling, stomach discomfort, diarrhea, constipation, rash, redness, or loose stools occur during use, discontinue the medicine immediately and consult a professional. Additionally, caution is warranted if there are changes in menstruation or prolonged bleeding, as there may be an increased risk of thrombosis. Long-term use of high doses may lead to tolerance, and excessive intake of specific vitamins can increase the risk of neurological disorders, peptic ulcers, liver damage, and osteoporosis, so it is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage. If symptoms do not improve after more than a month of taking this medicine, consult a professional. When administered to children, parental supervision is required, and since vitamin A can be sufficiently obtained through normal meals, the supplemental dosage should be limited to 5,000 IU or less per day. This medicine can affect blood glucose test results and may change urine color, so this should be notified during testing. When storing, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. Additionally, it is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
