Vitamin D is necessary during pregnancy, breastfeeding, periods of growth in children, and in the elderly. It is especially important in improving situations where bones and teeth do not develop properly, and in preventing rickets. Therefore, this drug is used during these periods and situations to enhance bone health and assist in growth and development.

How to take

Adult dose

For individuals 12 years and older, take 1 capsule once daily

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia or sarcoidosis, which is an unknown cause of systemic inflammatory disease, or those with kidney disease. Also, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones or severe renal failure, and individuals allergic to soybean oil, soy, and peanuts should avoid taking it. While taking this medication, it is advisable not to concurrently take medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids. Infants under 1 year, patients receiving medical treatment, children exposed to sunlight or consuming normal diets, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, premature infants, and infants should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Individuals with heart or circulatory problems, kidney impairment, low protein levels, patients taking cardiac glycosides, or those with a history of kidney stones should also consult a physician. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, so individuals allergic to this component should exercise caution while taking it. Patients with lipid metabolism issues such as hyperlipidemia, diabetic dyslipidemia, or pancreatitis should also be careful. If nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occurs while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. Furthermore, overdose may lead to gastrointestinal disorders, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, or edema; long-term use may cause hypercalcemia or stone disease. In particular, caution is advised when taken with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene due to the risk of hyperkalemia. If the medication is taken excessively or symptoms do not improve after about a month of use, consultation with a healthcare professional is required. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and when giving it to children, supervision by a guardian is necessary. It is advisable to avoid drinking tannin-containing teas such as green tea or black tea before and after taking this medication. Patients at risk of fat overload should test blood lipid levels and, if necessary, adjust the dosage accordingly, taking into account any other lipid injectable treatments being administered. When storing, keep it out of reach of children and in a cool, dry place, tightly sealed away from direct sunlight. Additionally, it is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
