This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of 80 mg of valsartan/12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide once daily with a small amount of water, regardless of meals. In case prescribed for blood pressure reduction, take valsartan 160 mg/hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Patients with mild to moderate renal impairment do not need dosage adjustment. Patients with mild to moderate liver impairment without bile duct obstruction should use valsartan

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be stopped immediately if pregnancy is confirmed.
