(Hypertension, Angina) Improvement of myocardial ischemia and reduction of the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke related to cardiovascular risk factors
This medication is used only for patients who need to take both amlodipine (esamlodipine) and atorvastatin. Amlodipine improves symptoms of myocardial ischemia caused by hypertension and angina (stable and variant), and helps reduce the risk of hospitalization for angina and the need for revascularization in patients with recently diagnosed coronary artery disease. Atorvastatin reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications such as myocardial infarction, stroke, revascularization, and angina, and is particularly effective in treating hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia. Additionally, it is used to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease in high-risk groups with diabetes and a family history. Thus, this medication is used to reduce various risk factors associated with cardiovascular health, and it aids in managing cardiovascular diseases through blood pressure and cholesterol control.
This medication should be administered only to adults, and the dosage should be individualized based on the efficacy and tolerability of amlodipine/atorvastatin in each patient. Amlodipine (esamlodipine) is taken orally once daily at a dose of 5(2.5) mg and may be increased to a maximum of 10(5) mg daily based on the patient's response. The recommended initial dose of atorvastatin is 10 mg once daily for adults.

Additionally, patients with severely impaired kidney function, elderly individuals, patients with a history of alcoholism or liver disease, and those at risk of muscle damage should use this medication cautiously. Since this medication poses a risk of muscle abnormalities, patients should consult a doctor immediately if muscle pain or weakness occurs. Side effects such as fatigue, swelling, dizziness, headache, indigestion, muscle pain may occur during the use of this medication, and in rare cases liver dysfunction or allergic reactions may also occur. Therefore, regular liver function tests should be conducted, and any unusual symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, so patients should inform their doctor or pharmacist about any medications they are currently taking. Care should be taken especially when used concurrently with certain antibiotics, antifungals, immunosuppressants, and specific antiviral drugs. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed during treatment, they should stop taking it immediately and inform healthcare professionals. Nursing women are also advised to avoid taking this medication. The safety and effectiveness of this medication in children and the elderly have not been adequately established; thus, consultation with healthcare professionals is required prior to use. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively and cardiac rhythm abnormalities may occur, so patients should immediately visit a medical institution for appropriate treatment. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container for safety.
