Antipyretic effect for fever due to acute upper respiratory tract infection
This medication is used to relieve fever caused by acute upper respiratory tract infections.
Dosages vary based on weight or age. For those 12 years and older, the single dose is 18 to 25 mL (215 to 300 mg), and the maximum daily dose is 72 to 100 mL (860 to 1200 mg). The dosing varies by age and weight. For example, for an 11-year-old weighing 38.0-42.9 kg, the dose is 16 to 25 mL (190 to 300 mg) and a maximum of 64 to 100 mL (760 to 1200 mg); for 9-10 year-olds weighing 30.0.
For children over 6 months old, the dosage is 0.4 to 0.6 mL/kg (5 to 7 mg/kg of dexibuprofen) taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed, with a maximum of 4 doses in a day (28 mg/kg).
This medication may cause gastric bleeding in those who regularly consume more than 3 drinks a day, so patients should consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular events, so those with cardiovascular risk factors such as heart disease, hypertension, or diabetes should use it with caution. It may cause serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, so those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases or older adults should be particularly cautious. Patients with a history of peptic ulcer, severe liver or kidney disease, severe hypertension, or a history of asthma should not take this medication. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood disorders, liver or kidney function impairment, or heart failure should use this medication with care. If there are any unusual symptoms such as allergic reactions, skin rash, difficulty breathing, or changes in blood pressure while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. The risk of side effects may increase if this medication is taken with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), aspirin, anticoagulants, etc., so consulting a healthcare professional is necessary. This medication should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the later stages, as it may harm the fetus, and caution should also be taken when breastfeeding, as it may pass into breast milk and affect the baby. Children and the elderly are more likely to experience adverse reactions when taking this medication, so it should be administered with caution at the minimum dosage. If this medication is taken for an extended period, regular blood tests, liver function tests, and kidney function tests should be conducted to check for any abnormalities. In case of overdose, wash the stomach or induce vomiting as soon as possible with emergency measures. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.

Do not use this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, or high doses of methotrexate. Consult a doctor or pharmacist when used in combination with glucocorticoids, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, diuretics and antihypertensives, ACE inhibitors, furosemide, lithium, low-dose methotrexate, or anticoagulants (such as warfarin).
Caution is advised when using this medication with alcohol.
This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a lightproof container. Furthermore, it is important to store the medication at room temperature between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius to maintain its efficacy.
This medication is a white to slightly yellow suspension syrup with a distinct aroma in an opaque white bottle.
