Adult dose

For adults, Telmisartan alone is taken once daily with water, regardless of meals, for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled. It is recommended to adjust each component's dose individually before switching to this fixed combination medication. When clinically appropriate, direct switching from monotherapy to this combination medication may be considered. - The Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination of 40/12.5 mg can be given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 40 mg of Telmisartan. - The Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination of 80/12.5 mg can be given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 80 mg of Telmisartan. - The Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination of 80/25 mg can be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with the combination of 80 mg of Telmisartan and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide. Sodium or blood volume depletion should be corrected before starting this medication. Patients with Kidney Disease No dosage adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. This medication should not be given to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min). Regular monitoring of kidney function is recommended. Patients with Liver Disease This medication should be administered cautiously to patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. Dosage should not exceed 40/12.5 mg per day. It should not be given to patients with severe liver disease (see usage precautions 2). Thiazide diuretics should be used with caution in patients with liver function impairment. Elderly No dosage adjustment is required. Children The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children under 18 years of age.

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, due to the risk of serious injury or death to the fetus. Patients allergic to the components of this medicine or those with certain liver or kidney diseases should not take it. Pregnant and nursing women should also not be administered this medication. Elderly patients or those with high potassium levels in the blood, liver, or heart problems should use this medication cautiously. The Hydrochlorothiazide component can increase the risk of skin cancer, so sun exposure should be avoided during treatment, and skin conditions should be monitored frequently. As this medication lowers blood pressure, symptoms such as dizziness, hypotension, and fainting can occur, and caution is required when driving or operating machinery. Regular monitoring of electrolyte levels in the blood and kidney function is necessary during treatment, paying particular attention to changes in potassium levels. Interactions may occur when combined with other antihypertensives, diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., so it is important to consult a doctor. Overdose can lead to symptoms such as hypotension, electrolyte imbalance, and dehydration, requiring immediate medical attention. This medication is not recommended for children under 18, and should be administered cautiously in the elderly. When storing, keep it out of the reach of children, and use it immediately after removing it from the package.
