View approved original text

This medication is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension. It also helps to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality in patients over 55 years old who are at high risk of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary artery disease or stroke, as well as in diabetic patients. It is particularly effective as an alternative medication when ACE inhibitors cannot be used, providing cardiovascular protection. Therefore, this medication improves health by regulating blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
