How to take

Precautions

This medication can irritate the stomach and esophagus, so patients with upper gastrointestinal diseases such as gastritis, esophagitis, or esophageal ulcers should take it with caution. It must be taken with a sufficient amount of water, and patients should avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking the medicine. If there are issues with the esophagus or symptoms of dysphagia occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Patients with esophageal motility disorders, hypersensitivity to this drug, hypocalcemia, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and those with severe renal impairment should not take this medication. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance should avoid it. As a bisphosphonate, serious side effects such as osteonecrosis of the jaw, atypical femoral fractures, and severe gastrointestinal bleeding can rarely occur; any unusual symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. Taking this medication with food or medications containing divalent cations such as calcium, magnesium, iron, or aluminum can interfere with its absorption, so a sufficient interval should be maintained. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medicine or consult a specialist, and safety in children under 18 has not been established. In case of overdose, symptoms of hypocalcemia may appear, and immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
