How to take

Adult dose

As Risedronate Sodium, take 150 mg orally once a month. Since food may interfere with the absorption of this medication, take it at least 30 minutes before consuming food or any drink other than water. This medication should be taken standing upright with a sufficient amount of plain water (170 ∼ 230 mL). It should not be chewed or sucked, and you must avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking it.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years have not been established.

Precautions

This medication is an oral bisphosphonate and may irritate the gastric and esophageal mucosa, so patients with upper gastrointestinal disorders such as gastritis, esophagitis, or esophageal ulcers should use caution when taking it. In particular, if you have esophageal disorders or swallowing difficulties, you must consult a doctor before taking this medication. It should be taken with a sufficient amount of water and you should not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it to reduce the risk of esophageal irritation. Additionally, this medication should not be administered to patients with certain esophageal abnormalities, hypocalcemia, women who are pregnant or nursing, or patients with severe renal impairment.
