Treatment and prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis
This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
As Risedronate Sodium, take 150 mg once per month orally. Food may interfere with absorption, so take the medication at least 30 minutes before consuming any food or beverages other than water. Take the medication upright with a sufficient amount of pure water (170 to 230 mL), and do not chew or suck on it. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. If a dose is missed,

This medication may irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, so patients with esophageal disorders, gastritis, duodenitis, ulcers, etc., should use it with caution. Take this medication with plenty of water and do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. Severe adverse reactions such as esophagitis and esophageal ulcers may rarely occur, so if symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, pain when swallowing, pain behind the sternum, or heartburn occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific esophageal disorders, hypocalcemia, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients with severe renal impairment. This medication contains lactose, so lactose intolerant patients should also avoid taking it. Patients allergic to any of the dyes contained in this medication should use it cautiously. Taking this medication concurrently with substances or foods containing calcium, magnesium, iron, etc., may interfere with its absorption, so take it at intervals. In rare cases, serious side effects such as jaw necrosis, atypical femoral fractures, and osteonecrosis of the outer ear may occur with long-term use, necessitating regular monitoring and management. During the use of this medication, it is important to ensure adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, maintain weight-bearing exercises, and uphold a healthy lifestyle. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should not take this medication and should consult a doctor if they are currently taking it. Safety in children has not been established, while the elderly can use it without special dosage adjustments. In cases of overdose, serum calcium and phosphorus levels may drop sharply, requiring immediate medical attention.
