This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone. It effectively lowers blood pressure and helps prevent cardiovascular complications.

How to take

Adult dose

For patients not adequately controlling blood pressure with telmisartan alone, this medication should be taken once daily with a beverage, regardless of meals. The Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 40/12.5mg can be administered to patients not adequately controlling blood pressure with 40mg of telmisartan. The Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 80/12.5mg is for patients not adequately controlling blood pressure with 80mg of telmisartan.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age.

Precautions

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, as it may cause serious health problems for the fetus or newborn. Patients with allergies to any component of this medication or with specific liver or kidney diseases should avoid its use. Elderly patients or patients with high potassium levels, impaired liver function, or valvular heart disease should use this medication cautiously. As this medication lowers blood pressure, symptoms of hypotension may occur, and rarely, side effects such as skin rash, muscle pain, and gastrointestinal disturbances may arise.
