This medication is primarily used for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and familial hypercholesterolemia. It is effective as an adjunct therapy when not controlled by diet and exercise, and slows the progression of atherosclerosis by lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels. It also helps manage elevated cholesterol levels in pediatric patients. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy for patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia. In cases of high cardiovascular disease risk, this medication helps reduce the risks of stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization. Overall, this medication is used to effectively manage cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

How to take

Adult dose
