Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients who have a known allergy or have previously had hypersensitivity to this medicine or its components. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients for whom gastrointestinal motility stimulation could be harmful, such as those with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical intestinal obstruction, or perforation. Serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur during the use of this medicine; if symptoms such as low blood pressure, difficulty in breathing, hives, or sweating appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Liver function impairment or jaundice may occur, so liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT, γ-GTP, etc.) should be regularly monitored, and if any abnormal signs are observed, the medication should be discontinued. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and increased salivation may occur, so caution is advised. Central nervous system side effects may include headache, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and dizziness, so the patient's condition should be closely monitored. Gynecomastia symptoms or elevated prolactin levels may occur, so consult a healthcare professional if such changes are noted. Blood tests may show thrombocytopenia or leukopenia, so regular blood testing is necessary; if abnormalities are found, medication should be discontinued. It may affect kidney function, so BUN and creatinine levels should be checked. This medicine enhances the action of acetylcholine, so this should be considered when using it, and long-term use should be avoided if gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve. When taken with anticholinergics, the effectiveness of this medicine may decrease, so appropriate intervals between doses should be observed and caution taken. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medicine if the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risks, as its safety has not been established. During breastfeeding, this medicine may be secreted in breast milk, so use should be avoided if possible or breastfeeding should be discontinued. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so caution should be exercised in use. Elderly patients are at higher risk of adverse reactions due to decreased bodily functions, so symptoms should be closely monitored, and dose adjustments or discontinuation should be considered if necessary. Finally, this medicine should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers may cause accidents or affect its quality, so caution is advised.
