Adult dose

For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by telmisartan alone, this medication should be taken once daily with water, regardless of meals. Since the doses of each component are fixed, it is recommended to adjust the individual dose before switching to this medication. Directly switching from monotherapy to this medicine may also be considered. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide 40/12.5 mg may be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 40 mg of telmisartan. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide 80/12.5 mg may be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 80 mg of telmisartan. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide 80/25 mg may be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either combinations of 80 mg of telmisartan and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide or monotherapy. Before starting this medication, sodium or blood volume depletion should be corrected. Patients with renal impairment No dose adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. This medication should not be given to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min), and regular monitoring of renal function is recommended. Patients with hepatic impairment Patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment should be given this medicine cautiously. This medication should not be administered at more than 40/12.5 mg per day. It should not be given to patients with severe liver impairment (see precautions for use 2). Thiazide diuretics should be given with caution in patients with liver dysfunction. Elderly No dose adjustment is necessary. Pediatrics Safety and efficacy in patients under the age of 18 have not been established with this medication.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, it is not administered.

This medicine can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, hence it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to active ingredients or excipients, those sensitive to sulfonamide drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with obstructive biliary diseases, and patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction should not take this medication. Elderly patients, those with high potassium levels, liver impairment, or patients with heart valve disorders or ischemic heart diseases should use this medicine with caution. This medication contains hydrochlorothiazide, which may cause fluid loss or electrolyte imbalances; thus, regular monitoring of potassium, sodium, and other blood levels during use is important. Skin may become sensitive to sunlight, so avoid sun exposure and inform a doctor immediately if new skin lesions appear. This medicine may interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium supplements, etc., so patients should inform healthcare providers of any other medications they are taking. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, electrolyte abnormalities, and dehydration may occur; immediate hospital treatment is necessary. Use in children under 18 years of age is not recommended as the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and taken directly from the sealed package before use.

This medicine may be sensitive to air and moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. It is recommended to store at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage helps maintain the effectiveness and safety of the medication.

Appearance

The tablet is oval-shaped, consisting of two layers in white/pink, with possible pink specks on the white layer.
