Dosage and Administration

Dispense 5 mL of this medication onto wet hands, wash for 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with a history of allergy to chlorhexidine. Those who have allergies to other drugs, suffer from allergic conditions such as asthma, or have such medical histories, as well as women who are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or nursing, should consult a physician or pharmacist before using this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, discomfort, cold sweat, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or skin redness occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes or hives may occur; if these symptoms appear, stop using the medication. This product may cause hypersensitivity reactions to light, so caution is advised. Before use, confirm any history of allergy to chlorhexidine or hypersensitivity to medications. This medication is for external use only on the skin or wound area and should not be ingested or injected. If accidentally ingested, the stomach should be cleansed using milk, eggs, or gelatin, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Contact with the eyes may cause severe corneal damage, so care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes or ears; if exposure occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately. Using this medication alongside soap or other cleansers may diminish its sterilizing effect, so all soap residues should be completely removed before use. Do not mix this medication with other chemicals or cleansers. Store out of reach of children in a safe place, and this medication should be maintained in a stable acidic state (pH 5-6). If the pH exceeds 8 and becomes alkaline, the medication may crystallize and lose effectiveness.
