This medication is used for patients with hypertension, including essential hypertension. It also helps to prevent and manage kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes who have hypertension. Therefore, it is effective in controlling blood pressure and protecting kidney function.

How to take

Adult dose

Essential hypertension: Oral administration of 150 mg (as Irbesartan) once daily; may be increased to 300 mg if the effect is insufficient. Chronic kidney disease in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes: Initiate oral administration with 150 mg of this medication once daily and titrate up to 300 mg for maintenance is recommended. Elderly (75 years or older) and patients on hemodialysis: Consider an initial dose of 75 mg.

Precautions

This drug can cause severe damage to the fetus during pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed.
