Hyaluronic Acid Sodium Injection (Pre-filled)

Adult dosage

Typically, for adults, administer 1 vial once a week for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint. The number of administrations may be adjusted appropriately according to symptoms.

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to any of its components. Caution should be exercised in patients who have had allergies to other medications or who have liver dysfunction or a history of liver disease, as liver function abnormalities may occur. Additionally, caution is required when administering this medication to patients with skin diseases or infections at the injection site, as it will be injected into the joint. There is a rare possibility of severe allergic shock symptoms when using this medication; if symptoms arise, stop administration immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Common side effects may include facial or eyelid swelling, skin rash, itching, etc. If these symptoms occur, administration should be stopped and medical consultation should be sought. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, warmth, and severe pressure at the injection site may occur, so caution is needed for these symptoms as well. Moreover, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fever may occur. If this medication is administered to joints in a state of high inflammation, it may exacerbate the inflammation; therefore, it is advisable to use it after the inflammation has subsided. After administration, it is recommended to stabilize the injection site. If this medication leaks outside the joint, it may cause pain, so it must be injected accurately into the joint. Aseptic conditions must be maintained during injection, and if symptoms do not improve, administration should be limited to three times before cessation. If there is fluid accumulation in the joint, it should be drained as needed before administration. This medication is not intended for intravenous injection or ophthalmic use. It is advisable to use a needle gauge of 22-23 for injection. Furthermore, caution is required as precipitation may occur when used with certain disinfectants. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should use it cautiously only when the benefits of treatment exceed the risks, as the safety of this medication has not been fully established. Nursing women should avoid breastfeeding while using this medication, as it may be excreted in breast milk. In children, safety has not been established, so it should be administered cautiously only when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may have reduced physiological functions; thus, caution is required during administration.

If the drug is for domestic use, it should be stored in a sealed container at room temperature, between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. If it is for export, it should be stored in a sealed container, protected from direct light, at refrigeration temperatures between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius, ensuring that it does not freeze.
