Precautions

This medication should not be used for the purpose of developing muscle strength or enhancing physical ability in healthy individuals. It should not be administered to patients with androgen-dependent tumors, such as suspected or diagnosed prostate cancer, as it may worsen the tumor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use this medication due to the risk of masculinization in the fetus. Patients with liver tumors or those with a history of liver tumors should also not use this medication. Patients with male breast cancer, malignancies with high calcium levels, hypercalcemia, renal disease, or allergies to this medication or its components should not be treated with this medication. Patients with hypertension, migraines, epilepsy, diabetes, a tendency to edema, benign prostate hypertrophy, a history of heart or kidney disease, bone metastases of cancer, and elderly individuals should use this medication cautiously. Long-term or high-dose use of this medication may result in side effects such as masculinization in women, suppression of sperm formation, gynecomastia in men, and erectile dysfunction of the penis. Additionally, early maturation of bones, liver dysfunction, mental instability, headaches, skin issues, fluid retention and edema, and pain or induration at the injection site can occur. Serious side effects such as liver tumors or intra-abdominal bleeding have been reported, and if abdominal pain or unusual symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Thromboembolic symptoms such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism may arise, so immediate evaluation and treatment are warranted if there are symptoms like leg pain, swelling, or shortness of breath. This medication may affect blood clotting, and patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy may require dosage adjustments. Some drugs that induce liver enzymes may reduce the effectiveness of this medication, so patients should consult with their doctor regarding concomitant medications. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not use this medication to prevent fetal abnormalities. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been thoroughly established, so caution is advised. Elderly patients require careful monitoring when using this medication due to decreased physiological function and increased risk of tumors. This medication is administered intramuscularly and should be injected very slowly, with careful selection of the injection site to avoid damage to nerves or blood vessels. If there is severe pain during the injection or blood is returned, the needle should be removed immediately, and the injection should be performed at another site. Finally, if this medication is used long-term or in large quantities, there may be a risk for the development of liver tumors, hence regular examinations may be necessary.
