This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. The rhubarb component included in this medication may cause uterine contractions, increasing the risk of miscarriage or preterm labor. It is also advisable for breastfeeding women to avoid this medication. Some components of rhubarb can be transmitted through breast milk and may cause diarrhea in infants. Do not take this medication with other laxatives during use, as interactions between medications may cause side effects. If you have hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, edema, are elderly, or are currently taking other medications, consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. Caution is needed if you experience diarrhea, loose stools, gastrointestinal weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting, as these symptoms may worsen. Caution should also be taken when used with potassium-containing agents, licorice-containing agents, or diuretics, as they may cause hypokalemia or muscle-related side effects.
