In children, it is used to alleviate symptoms of habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal passage disorders, such as constipation or diarrhea. Overall, it helps improve various gastrointestinal issues, promoting digestive health for patients.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For Trimebutine Maleate, take 100-200mg three times a day before meals. Adjust as needed according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication may rarely affect the gastrointestinal system, leading to symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, bowel sounds, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, and a sensation of numbness in the mouth. Rarely, it may cause rapid heartbeat. It can also affect the central nervous system, resulting in fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headache, which may occur infrequently. Rarely, there have been reports of elevated liver function test results, so caution should be taken regarding liver health. Allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur; in these cases, discontinue the medication immediately. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been fully established, thus women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a physician before use and should only use it if the benefit outweighs the risks.
