This medication is used for various joint disorders such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps relieve painful swelling or inflammation that occurs after trauma or surgery. This medication also aids in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. Overall, it is effective in alleviating pain and inflammation related to the joints.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Administer 300 mg of dexibuprofen orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg of dexibuprofen per day.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication may affect the cardiovascular system, so individuals at risk of heart disease or stroke should use it cautiously, particularly at higher doses, where the risk may increase. Serious issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation may occur with this medication, so individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disorders or the elderly should exercise caution. Individuals with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver or kidney disease, severe heart failure, or high blood pressure, and those allergic to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not take this medication. During the use of this medication, it should not be taken with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high-dose methotrexate, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment, and caution is needed when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. Individuals with blood disorders, liver or kidney function impairment, high blood pressure, heart failure, or a history of allergies should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If any abnormal symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, or bleeding occur during use of this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and medical advice sought. This medication should be used at the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration. Routine blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are required with long-term use. In cases of overdose, immediate medical attention is needed regardless of symptoms, and emergency treatment such as gastric lavage or induced vomiting may be required. Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash accompanied by high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress with cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, vision abnormalities, paralysis, urinary retention.
