This medicine is used to supplement vitamin D when there is a deficiency of calcium, during pregnancy, breastfeeding, periods of growth, and in old age. It particularly helps prevent rickets and supports healthy development of bones and teeth. Therefore, it is effective in improving problems due to vitamin D deficiency.

How to take

Adult dose

For those aged 8 and older: Take 2 tablets once daily after meals.

Child dose

Children under 8 years of age should not take it.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia, unidentified systemic inflammatory diseases, or kidney diseases. Anyone who has an allergy to this medication or its components should also avoid taking it. Additionally, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, or severe renal failure should not use this medication. This medicine contains lactose; thus, patients who have a genetic problem that prevents the digestion of lactose should avoid it. While taking this medication, it is advised not to take phosphate salts, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids simultaneously. Infants under 1 year, patients undergoing other treatments, children who receive a lot of sunlight, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, and patients with heart or kidney problems must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If you experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing of the face, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash while taking this medicine, you should immediately stop taking it and consult a professional. Overdosage may cause gastrointestinal issues, edema, or heart problems, so caution is needed. Moreover, prolonged use may lead to increased blood calcium levels or the formation of stones. When taken with certain diuretics, blood potassium levels may rise, requiring caution. This medication should be taken exactly as prescribed, and when given to children, caregivers should guide and supervise them well. It is also advisable to avoid drinking tannin-containing teas such as green tea or black tea around the time of taking this medication. Finally, this medicine should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. Transferring the medication to another container for storage should be avoided to prevent misuse and maintain quality.
