For essential hypertension, an initial and maintenance dosage of 8 to 16 mg of Candesartan Cilexetil is recommended for once daily oral administration. For heart failure, the initial dose of 4 mg once daily is recommended, with dose increments of double at intervals of at least two weeks.

This drug is used to effectively control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It is also helpful for heart failure patients with reduced left ventricular systolic function who require additional therapy with ACE inhibitors or have poor tolerance. As a result, it alleviates heart failure symptoms and improves heart function. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of hypertension and certain heart failure.

How to take

Adult dose

For essential hypertension, an initial and maintenance dosage of 8 to 16 mg of Candesartan Cilexetil is recommended for once daily oral administration. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled after four weeks of treatment at a dose of 16 mg once daily, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 32 mg once daily. For heart failure, the initial dose of 4 mg once daily is recommended, with dose increments of double at intervals of at least two weeks.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy for adolescents and children under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This drug can cause severe harm to the fetus, especially during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Those who are allergic to this drug or its components, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and breastfeeding individuals should not take this medication. People with severely impaired liver function or genetic lactose intolerance should also avoid using this drug. It is safer not to take this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Women planning for pregnancy should be aware of the risks associated with this drug. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and rapid heartbeat may appear, and appropriate treatment should be sought immediately. This drug should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.

Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), cold sweat, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, jaundice, sudden and severe headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, severe swelling throughout the body with increased blood pressure, shock, fainting, loss of consciousness

Mild side effects
