This medication is used for conditions related to the joints, such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps alleviate painful swelling or inflammation occurring after trauma or surgery. Additionally, it plays a supportive role in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. Overall, this drug is effectively used to improve various inflammatory diseases and pain symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As dexibuprofen, administer 300 mg orally, 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg as dexibuprofen in one day.

Precautions

This drug should be consulted with a healthcare provider if the patient regularly consumes more than 3 alcoholic drinks per day, as it increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may affect the cardiovascular system, potentially increasing the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction or stroke, so those with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should consult with a doctor before use. It can cause serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, perforation, so those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases or the elderly should be particularly cautious, and if any abnormal symptoms occur while taking this medication, consult medical personnel immediately. Those with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver or kidney impairment, severe heart failure, high blood pressure, asthma, or hypersensitivity to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not take this medication. Taking this medication together with certain drugs such as aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high doses of methotrexate may increase the risk of side effects, so it is advisable not to take them together. While on this medication, it is best to avoid breastfeeding, as dizziness or fatigue may occur, requiring caution when driving or operating machinery. Those with blood disorders, liver or kidney diseases, high blood pressure, heart failure, a history of allergies, the elderly, and children (over 6 years old) should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking. If serious side effects occur such as symptoms of shock, blood disorders, gastrointestinal symptoms, skin rashes, hypersensitivity, liver dysfunction, kidney issues, or cardiovascular symptoms while taking, stop taking the medication immediately and consult healthcare personnel. This medication should be taken for the least amount of time and at the minimum dosage necessary; routine blood tests and liver and kidney function assessments are required for long-term use. Particularly after six months of pregnancy, it may affect the fetus, so be sure to consult with a doctor, and after 20 weeks of pregnancy, caution is needed as there may be fetal renal dysfunction such as oligohydramnios. In case of overdose, contact healthcare personnel immediately for rapid treatment, and keep out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication together with aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high doses of methotrexate. Corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants, baclofen, immunosuppressants, thrombolytics, ticlopidine, antithrombotic drugs, and potassium levels in the blood may be increased.

Storage

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. The recommended storage temperature is room temperature between 1°C and 30°C. This helps maintain the medication's efficacy.
