Precautions

This medication is an external preparation containing the ingredient flurbiprofen, primarily used to alleviate pain and inflammation. This medication should not be used in individuals who have had allergic reactions to flurbiprofen or other flurbiprofen formulations. It should also not be administered to patients with a history of asthma attacks known as aspirin-induced asthma, as this medication can provoke asthma attacks. Patients with bronchial asthma should exercise special caution when using this medication. Because there is a risk of triggering an asthma attack, it should be used cautiously under a doctor's guidance. Using this medication may cause symptoms of contact dermatitis such as redness, rash, itching, and a burning sensation. If such symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately. Additionally, if initial asthma symptoms arise, such as wheezing, difficulty breathing, or a bubbling sound while breathing, use of this medication should be stopped immediately. Asthma attacks may occur within hours after applying this medication, so caution is advised. It is important to remember that this medication helps alleviate symptoms, rather than completely treating inflammation or pain. If used on areas with skin infections, the infection may not manifest externally; thus, it should be used in conjunction with antiseptics or antifungals, and the condition should be monitored closely. For chronic conditions, such as degenerative arthritis, it is essential to consider other treatment methods rather than relying solely on this medication and to carefully watch for potential side effects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefit of treatment is deemed greater than potential risks, as its safety is not well established. For children, caution is required as the safety of this medication has not been sufficiently confirmed, and there is limited experience regarding its use. Elderly patients should be cautious when using this medication, as their skin condition may be fragile, and the skin condition in the area of application should be monitored closely. This medication should not be applied to areas with wounds, mucous membranes, or areas with eczema or rash, and it is crucial to clean the sweat off the application site before use.
