This medication is used for the treatment of simplex virus infections, particularly initial and recurrent genital herpes and oral herpes (cold sores). It alleviates symptoms at the infected site and assists in rapid recovery.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication should be applied to the affected area about every 4 hours, 5 times a day. Treatment should continue for 5 days, and if it does not improve after 5 days of use, it may be used for an additional 5 days.

This medication should not be used by individuals with allergies or sensitivities to this medication or its components. Additionally, nursing women and children should avoid its use. Patients with weakened immune systems, such as those with AIDS or bone marrow transplant recipients, should use this medication with caution.
