This medication is used for various joint disorders such as chronic polyarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps relieve painful swelling and inflammation following trauma or surgery. Additionally, it is utilized as an adjunct for treating infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. It is effectively used to improve various inflammatory diseases and pain.
As dexibuprofen, the dose is 300 mg orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, it should not exceed 1,200 mg as dexibuprofen in one day.
This medication can cause gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages a day, so it must be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including this medication, may negatively affect the cardiovascular system, increasing the risk of myocardial infarction or stroke, so caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors. Serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation can occur, and these symptoms may arise without warning during administration, so monitoring gastrointestinal symptoms carefully during use is required. Individuals with serious conditions such as gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, heart failure, or hypertension, or those with allergic reactions to this medication should not take it. Combining this medication with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, so it is advisable to avoid co-administration. Breastfeeding should be avoided while taking this medication, and due to potential side effects such as dizziness or drowsiness, caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery. Those with specific conditions or diseases such as blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, hypertension, heart failure, elderly individuals, children, or pregnant women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If serious adverse reactions occur during use, such as shock, severe skin rash, gastrointestinal bleeding symptoms, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, cardiovascular issues, or mental/neurological disturbances, medical consultation should be sought immediately, and the medication should be discontinued. This medication should be used for the shortest duration possible at the minimum effective dose, and regular blood tests and checks for liver and kidney function are required during long-term use. Pregnant women after the sixth month should not take this medication due to potential risks to the fetus, and women in early pregnancy or planning to become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking it. In cases of overdose, even if there are no special symptoms, quick medical treatment is required, and the medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, anaphylactic shock, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis), severe rash, blisters, jaundice of the skin or eyes, symptoms of liver dysfunction, sudden and severe headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, markedly decreased urine output, generalized severe swelling, increased blood pressure, cardiovascular thrombosis.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should not be taken with aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high-dose methotrexate (15 mg/week or more) used in chemotherapy. Also, corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants (such as warfarin), baclofen, and immunosuppressants should be avoided when taking this medication.
This medication must be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius (room temperature).
