Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. People with allergies to this medication's components or sulfonamide-class medications should not take it. Patients with acute renal failure, severely impaired renal function, severe liver disease, certain hereditary angioedema patients, and gout patients should not use this medication. Patients with low fluid volume or low sodium may experience hypotensive symptoms, so they should wait until their condition improves before taking this medication.
