This medication helps relieve temporary insomnia. It improves symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep or frequently waking up, allowing for more restful sleep. It is used to aid recovery from fatigue and improve the quality of daily life.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 50 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride orally once daily before bedtime. If excessive sedation occurs from taking 50 mg, take 25 mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by certain patients. For example, individuals who are allergic to this medication or have asthma, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis with breathing difficulties should not take it. Patients with urinary obstruction symptoms such as glaucoma or benign prostatic hyperplasia should also avoid this medication. Patients with peptic ulcers or duodenal obstruction, children under the age of 15, individuals with seizure disorders such as epilepsy, those with pheochromocytoma, breastfeeding women, and individuals who usually experience insomnia or have been diagnosed with insomnia should not use this medication. While taking this medication, do not take other medications containing the same ingredients or other sedatives, certain cold medicines, antipyretics, cough medicines, or antihistamines. It is important not to take this medication for a long time or continuously during treatment. This medication may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery from the time of taking it until the next day if you feel drowsy or lethargic. Alcohol should also be avoided. People with myasthenia gravis or those receiving treatment from a doctor, elderly individuals, those with allergic predispositions or who have experienced allergic reactions to drugs, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If skin rashes, itching, dry mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, feeling of heaviness, drowsiness, discomfort, nervous hyperreactivity, decreased consciousness, palpitations, difficulty urinating, or vision disturbances occur after taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. Additionally, if symptoms do not improve after 2-3 doses, consult a specialist. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and if insomnia persists for more than 2 weeks, it is advisable to consult a doctor. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container with the lid tightly closed. Transferring it to another container may result in misuse or loss of quality.
