This medication is effectively used for herpes simplex virus infections, particularly for acute and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores. It helps alleviate blister symptoms caused by these viral infections and suppresses the progression of the disease. Patients can expect an improvement in symptoms and a speedy recovery with this medication.
Apply this medication to the affected area (site of the disease) approximately every 4 hours, 5 times a day. Continue treatment for 5 days; if not improved after 5 days, it may be used for an additional 5 days.

While using this medication, patients may experience discomfort such as pressing pain if there are sores in the genital area. Additionally, temporary burning or stabbing pain, skin rashes or itching, red spots, and skin irritation may occur. Patients should be aware that the skin may become dry or peel. It is advisable to start treatment as soon as symptoms first appear and to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and method. Using it when there are no symptoms or for preventive purposes is not appropriate. Do not mix or dilute this medication with other drugs. Pregnant women or those who could become pregnant should carefully weigh the benefits and risks of using this medication, and nursing women are advised not to use it. Its safety and efficacy in children have not been established, so its use is not recommended.
