Prevention of local skin infections
This medication helps prevent infections in wounds or surgical sites by being used for local skin disinfection.
Use undiluted and directly. Apply to clean and dry hands. Moisten hands and nails with this medication and rub vigorously over all surfaces of the hands until dry.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to chlorhexidine. Also, it should not be used for disinfecting surgical instruments and care should be taken to avoid contact with sensitive areas such as the brain, spinal cord, and eyes. Particularly in cases of perforation of the eardrum, care must be taken to prevent the drug from penetrating the auditory canal. It is safe not to use this medication on mucous membranes, especially genital mucous membranes. Extra caution should be taken when using this medication on large areas of skin with open wounds, burn areas, mucous membranes, and on the immature skin of a fetus. Although the amount absorbed through the skin is small, the risk of systemic side effects cannot be completely ruled out. Allergic reactions or contact dermatitis may occur locally during use, with a higher risk when applied to wounds or mucous membranes. Rarely, a systemic allergic reaction or in severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur, so caution is needed. This medication can interact with other disinfectants or soaps, so it should be avoided from being used simultaneously or consecutively. If a large amount of this medication is swallowed, immediate medical attention is needed, and special caution is required due to the alcohol content to avoid overdose. This medication should not be swallowed or injected and should only be used as an external preparation applied to the skin. Furthermore, it should not be mixed with detergents or other chemicals, and care should be taken near flames or high heat because it is a flammable liquid. It is advisable not to use it with cationic substances due to poor chemical compatibility. When using electric devices, the medication should be allowed to dry completely to reduce burn risks before use. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, as this could cause severe corneal damage or permanent visual impairment.
