Precautions

This medication contains iodine, so it should not be used by individuals allergic to iodine. In particular, people with thyroid dysfunction or certain thyroid diseases should avoid using this medication. Patients with skin inflammation or impaired kidney function, as well as pregnant or nursing women, should also avoid using this drug. It is advisable for severely ill patients with serious wounds to avoid using this medication as well. While using this drug, do not use it in conjunction with chlorhexidine, sulfonamides, silver compounds, alkaline preparations, or mercury-containing preparations. Using these drugs together may reduce the disinfecting efficacy of this medication, which can be observed through discoloration. Additionally, combining with wound care products containing enzymes may negate the effects of the enzymes. It should not be used with hydrogen peroxide, and if soap is used, it is important to thoroughly rinse the soap off before applying this medication, as soap can weaken its disinfecting action. It is important not to mix this drug with other preparations. If symptoms such as skin rashes, itching, irritation, reddening, or dermatitis worsen during use, discontinue use immediately. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing or hives may occur, and if these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately. Be cautious of potential iodine toxicity with excessive use. This medication should not be taken orally, and the prescribed dosage and administration must be adhered to. Iodine can be absorbed through the skin, impacting thyroid function test results, so caution is advised. Avoid contact with eyes; if it occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. Care must be taken when using electrosurgical tools to prevent the medication from being caught between the skin and the electrode, as it can cause electrical insulation if dried. Prolonged or excessive contact may lead to contact dermatitis, so caution is necessary. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and if it comes into contact with clothing, it should be washed out immediately with water. Store away from direct sunlight and do not transfer to other containers. If using metal containers, be cautious as iodine may corrode metals; synthetic resin containers are generally acceptable but may discolor.
