This medication is effective for sudden abdominal pain due to gastrointestinal diseases and for pain associated with biliary and urinary tract issues. It is also used to alleviate symptoms of dysfunction in the female reproductive system and spasmodic pain, including dysmenorrhea. It helps treat various types of spasmodic pain.

How to take

Adult dose

The adult dosage is 1-2 tablets orally three times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 tablets.

Precautions

This medication may cause liver damage if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol a day; therefore, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is mandatory. Individuals with severe renal impairment, certain enzyme deficiencies, glaucoma, urinary retention due to prostate enlargement, gastrointestinal obstructions, or similar conditions should not take this medication. Avoid this medication if you have a history of allergic reactions to it or asthma, and if you have myasthenia gravis, severe liver or heart disease, hemorrhagic colitis, or peptic ulcers. Since this medication contains acetaminophen, taking it with other acetaminophen-containing products may lead to liver damage; thus, it’s essential to check the medications you are taking. Serious side effects can occur in various organs such as the blood, skin, respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, and kidneys; if abnormal symptoms arise, immediately consult with a doctor or pharmacist. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as urinary difficulties, dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, reduced gastrointestinal motility, liver function impairment, severe nausea, and abdominal pain may occur, requiring prompt treatment. This medication should not be taken for more than three days without a doctor’s guidance, particularly at high dosages, as it may lead to headaches; careful dosage adjustment is necessary. Caution is needed while driving or operating machinery due to potential visual impairment. Drug interactions may occur with other medications taken concurrently, so it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist before use, especially regarding regular checks on liver function or blood conditions. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, the elderly, and patients with a history of liver issues should consult with a specialist before use. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container to avoid misuse or degradation.

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or zidovudine. Additionally, avoid interactions with warfarin, flucloxacillin, tetracycline antidepressants, antihistamines, antipsychotics, quinidine, amantadine, disopyramide, and other anticholinergic medications (e.g. tiotropium, ipratropium, atropine-type compounds), metoclopramide, beta-agonists, propantheline, chloramphenicol, probenecid, cholestyramine.
