Relief of symptoms related to gastrointestinal and biliary disorders associated with spasms and increased motility
This medication is used to control symptoms of spasms and increased motility associated with various conditions including stomach and duodenal ulcers, esophageal spasms, pyloric spasms, gastritis, enteritis, intestinal colic, spastic constipation, functional diarrhea, cholecystitis, cholangitis, cholelithiasis, biliary dyskinesia, sequelae after cholecystectomy, urinary stones, cystitis, and dysmenorrhea. The dosage can be adjusted appropriately based on the patient's age and symptoms to enhance therapeutic effect. This medication helps alleviate spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, biliary system, and urinary system, improving symptoms.
Administer 10-20 mg of butylscopolamine bromide orally 3-5 times a day. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms. If the cause of the symptoms such as abdominal pain is not medically confirmed, this medication should not be continued.
This medication should not be administered to patients with glaucoma, functional obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal obstruction, or severe myasthenia gravis. Additionally, it should not be used by patients with arrhythmias, severe heart disease, hemorrhagic colitis, or urinary disorders due to prostatic hypertrophy. Patients who are hypersensitive to sucrose included in this medication should also exercise caution. It should be used with caution in patients with bacterial diarrhea, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, ulcerative colitis, hyperthyroidism, those in hot environments, and patients with prostatic hypertrophy. This medication may cause side effects such as dry mouth, constipation, urinary disorders, headaches, and palpitations due to its anticholinergic effects. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur, and if any adverse reaction occurs, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment sought. During the use of this medication, visual disturbances or dizziness may occur, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery. If serious symptoms like abdominal pain, fever, vomiting, or blood in stool occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Use of this medication with other anticholinergic drugs may increase side effects, so consult a physician or pharmacist. It is preferable not to use this medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Since prostatic hypertrophy is common in the elderly, it should be used with extra caution. In cases of overdose, anticholinergic symptoms may occur, requiring immediate appropriate treatment at a hospital. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and not transferred to other containers.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
