Adult dosage

Use it undiluted. Apply it on clean and dry hands. Moisten hands and nails with this medication and vigorously rub it over all hand surfaces while drying them.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by people who are allergic to chlorhexidine. It is safer not to use it for disinfecting surgical instruments. Care should be taken to avoid direct contact with the brain, spinal cord, and eyes, and caution is needed to prevent it from penetrating the ears if there is a perforation in the eardrum. It is advisable not to use it on mucous membranes, especially genital mucous membranes. Although the amount absorbed through the skin is small, it should be used with caution on larger areas such as wounds or burn sites, or on the immature skin of a fetus. Allergic reactions or contact dermatitis may occur at the local site, and the risks increase when used on wounds or mucous membranes. Rarely, systemic allergic reactions or severe cases of anaphylactic shock may occur, so caution is warranted. It is best to avoid using this medication simultaneously or consecutively with disinfectants or soaps, as they may interfere with each other's action. If a large amount of this medication is swallowed, one should visit a hospital immediately. Because it contains alcohol, care should be taken to avoid excessive intake. This medication should not be ingested orally or injected, and must be used strictly as an external agent applied to the skin. Do not mix with detergents or other chemicals, and take care to keep it away from flames or heat sources as it is flammable. When using electrical appliances, it should be used only after the medication is completely dry to reduce the risk of burns. If it comes into contact with the eyes, it can cause severe corneal damage or permanent vision impairment, so great care must be taken to avoid eye contact.
