Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with a hereditary condition called phenylketonuria should not take this medication. The daily intake of aspartame should be limited to below the WHO recommended amount, and adults should be careful not to exceed a maximum of 2.4g per day. Individuals who are allergic or sensitive to this medication should avoid taking it. It is also advisable for pregnant or potentially pregnant women, as well as nursing mothers, not to use this medication. Additionally, this medication should not be administered to children under 2 years of age. This medication contains lactose, so people with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. During treatment with this medication, specific drugs should not be taken together. For example, the metabolism of theophylline may be inhibited when taken with this medication, while cimetidine, praziquantel, and dexamethasone can increase its blood concentration. Conversely, ritonavir, phenytoin, carbamazepine, and phenobarbital can decrease the blood concentration of this medication, necessitating caution. Patients with compromised liver or kidney function should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Furthermore, caution is advised for individuals allergic or sensitive to yellow dye No. 5, as this substance is included in the formulation. If symptoms such as skin rash, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, or dizziness occur during treatment, the medication should be discontinued immediately and medical consultation sought. Rarely, allergic reactions such as fever, itching, and hives may occur, and reversible hair loss may also appear. Women who may become pregnant should confirm their pregnancy status before using this medication and avoid taking it during early pregnancy. In case of a potential pregnancy, effective contraception should be used for the duration of treatment and for 3 days after the last dose. This medication can cause a decrease in white blood cell count and an increase in liver enzyme levels, so regular blood tests may be required. In case of overdose, symptomatic treatment and general supportive measures such as gastric lavage may be necessary. During the treatment of neurocysticercosis or in the event of inflammation caused by the killing of parasites, neurological symptoms such as seizures or increased intracranial pressure should prompt immediate medical consultation. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, stored away from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Additionally, care should be taken not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
