Relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarticular, otorhinolaryngological, and respiratory disorders
This medication helps relieve pain and inflammation in respiratory diseases such as laryngitis, tracheitis, and bronchitis, as well as in ENT diseases like sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, and pharyngitis. It is also used to improve symptoms in joint diseases by providing analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Adults: The initial dose is 350 mg of morniflumate twice daily. Depending on the patient, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 700 mg twice daily. It is advisable to start this medicine at a low dose and increase it to the effective dose. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to age and symptoms.
This medication can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages a day, so it's essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Caution is advised for individuals with cardiovascular disease or risk factors, as this medication may elevate the risk of heart and vascular diseases, and any symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. Serious gastrointestinal issues such as bleeding, ulcers, and perforation may occur, particularly in the elderly or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, so vigilance is necessary during treatment. Allergic reactions may occur suddenly, even if there has been no previous exposure to this medication or similar drugs, necessitating immediate discontinuation of the drug and consultation with healthcare professionals if adverse symptoms arise. It may mask inflammation symptoms or pain, potentially delaying the diagnosis of infectious complications, so careful use with appropriate antibiotics is needed if infection is suspected. Individuals with serious conditions such as peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver failure, kidney failure, heart failure, or hypertension should not use this medication, and it is prohibited for pregnant or nursing women and children. Individuals with blood disorders, bleeding tendencies, liver or kidney disorders, or a history of allergies should use this medication cautiously, especially the elderly or patients prone to reduced blood flow. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rash, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, or neurological symptoms may occur during treatment, requiring immediate consultation with healthcare professionals if these symptoms appear. This medication should be used at the minimum effective dose and for the shortest duration possible. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are necessary with long-term use. Interactions may occur when used in conjunction with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anticoagulants, diuretics, lithium, or methotrexate, so it is critical to inform healthcare professionals of all medications being taken. During pregnancy, especially in the late stages, this medication may pose risks to the fetus, so women who are pregnant or could become pregnant should thoroughly consult their doctor before using this medication. Elderly patients may experience more pronounced adverse reactions, so it is prudent to start at a low dose and carefully monitor. When taking the medication, it should be done with plenty of water, and taking it on an empty stomach or just before bed should be avoided. Caution is required when engaging in activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, as drowsiness or dullness may occur. In case of overdose, emergency measures such as inducing vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary, and immediate medical attention should be sought if symptoms are severe. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers to maintain quality.
