This medication is used for chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and arthritis. It also helps patients with ankylosing spondylitis. It relieves painful swelling or inflammation that occurs after trauma or surgery, and plays an auxiliary role in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. Overall, it can be effectively used for joint and inflammation-related diseases.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

As dexibuprofen, take 300 mg orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg of dexibuprofen in a day.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastric bleeding if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages per day, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, so individuals with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should consult a doctor before taking it and carefully monitor their symptoms. This medication may cause serious issues such as gastric bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, so caution is needed, especially for the elderly or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. Individuals with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, heart failure, or hypertension should not take this medication. Taking this medication along with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may increase the risk of gastric bleeding and reduce its efficacy, so it is advisable not to use them in combination. While taking this medication, you should be cautious as dizziness or fatigue may occur during driving or operating machinery, and breastfeeding women should either stop nursing or discontinue taking this medication. Individuals with blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, hypertension, heart failure, the elderly, or children (6 years and older) must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, kidney function deterioration, dizziness, headaches, or mental disturbances occur during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult medical personnel. It is safest not to take this medication during pregnancy, especially after the 6th month, as it may affect the fetus, and women in early pregnancy or planning pregnancy should consult with a specialist before taking it. Long-term high-dose use requires regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests, and the duration and dose should be kept to a minimum. In case of overdose, seek immediate treatment even if symptoms are absent, and emergency measures such as gastric lavage or dilution may be necessary. Store this medication in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children. Transferring to another container may cause quality deterioration or accidents, so care must be taken.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Additionally, it should not be combined with high doses (more than 15 mg/week) of methotrexate. Before taking, consult regarding corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants, baclofen, immune suppressants.
