This medication is used for disinfecting the hands of surgeons and healthcare workers during surgery. It helps reduce the risk of infection and maintain a safe surgical environment.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply the sponge absorbed with the solution to the hands and elbows and rub for 3 minutes. Pay special attention to the nails, epidermis, and areas between the fingers. Use a brush as needed. Wash off with warm water and repeat by washing for another 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

Precautions

This medication contains chlorhexidine and is used to disinfect the skin and mucous membranes. However, individuals who are allergic to chlorhexidine should not use this medication. It should not be used on critical nerve areas, such as the brain, spinal cord, and ears, as direct application in the ears may result in hearing damage or nerve disorders. Caution is required when using on mucous membranes like the vagina, bladder, or mouth, as shock reactions may occur. This product can cause severe damage if it comes into contact with the eyes, so utmost care should be taken to avoid eye exposure. It should be avoided in areas with ulceration or pus in the wound. Individuals with allergies to other medications or a history of allergic conditions such as asthma should use this medication with caution. If symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or redness occur while using, discontinue use immediately and inform healthcare personnel. It is safest for pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and women who are breastfeeding to not use this medication. This medication is for external use only and should never be ingested or injected. If ingested accidentally, the stomach should be washed out using milk or eggs, and the hospital should be contacted immediately. If this product gets into the eyes, it must be washed out thoroughly with clean water immediately, and in severe cases, ophthalmic treatment may be necessary. It is advisable not to use this medication on extensive wounds or burns, especially in newborns or premature infants, as their risk for systemic side effects is higher. This medication may lose effectiveness due to soap or organic substances, so the area should be cleaned before use. When diluting, ensure to use sterile clean distilled water, and the dilution solution should be freshly prepared daily for safety. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place.
