Precautions

This drug may cause adverse reactions in approximately 4% of patients, with the most common symptoms being diarrhea or loose stools, dry mouth, and fatigue. Caution is required as some patients may show elevated liver enzymes in liver function tests. Serious adverse reactions such as severe hepatitis, liver dysfunction, and jaundice may occur rarely; these symptoms should prompt immediate discontinuation of the medication and consultation with a healthcare professional. Allergic reactions such as skin rash, hives, and swelling may occur, as well as changes in blood cell counts or gastrointestinal symptoms, palpitations, dizziness, headaches, and tremors. Reports of abdominal pain, diarrhea, loose stools, nausea, dyspepsia, and fatigue have been documented in both domestic and international studies, and some patients may also experience drowsiness. If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve after more than 2 weeks of use, it is advisable not to continue taking this medication for a prolonged period. The effectiveness of this drug may be reduced when taken with anticholinergics; caution should be exercised with appropriate intervals between doses when used in combination. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this drug only if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established; during lactation, it is recommended to avoid administration if possible or to cease breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been established due to a lack of experience. In elderly patients, renal and liver function may decline, so close monitoring is necessary, and dosage adjustments may be required. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers can lead to accidents or degradation of quality, so caution is advised.
