This medication is primarily used to treat hypertension (essential hypertension) and heart failure. Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This drug may raise serum potassium levels, and when taken with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics, serum potassium concentration should be monitored closely. There may be interactions when taken with other blood pressure medications, diuretics, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), so inform your physician or pharmacist of any other medications being taken. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised against taking this medication, and if unavoidable, should do so only after consulting a professional.
