Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil. It effectively lowers and controls blood pressure, thus reducing the risk of complications due to hypertension.
Administer one tablet once daily with or without food. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The maximum dose is 10/40 milligrams. The recommended dosing is as follows: - 5/20 milligrams: administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 milligrams or olmesartan medoxomil 20 milligrams. - 10/20 milligrams: administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with olmesartan medoxomil.
The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed. Do not take this medication if you have an allergy to its active ingredients or similar components, or if you are pregnant or nursing. Patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, serious heart valve diseases, biliary obstruction, those undergoing kidney dialysis, and patients in shock should not use this medication. For hypotensive patients with dehydration or sodium deficiency, initial symptoms of hypotension may appear, so careful monitoring of the condition during use is advised. As this medication causes vasodilation, caution is required for patients with certain heart diseases. It should be used with caution in patients with heart failure, and patients with weakened kidney function should be monitored closely. When taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, edema, gastrointestinal disturbances may occur, and severe symptoms should be discussed with a physician. During pregnancy, this medication can have serious effects on the fetus, so anyone planning to become pregnant or who is already pregnant should consult with healthcare professionals. Nursing women should avoid taking this medication due to the possibility of it being passed to breast milk and affecting the infant; it is recommended to stop breastfeeding or discontinue this medication. Safety and efficacy for children have not been established, and it is not recommended for those under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may have impaired kidney and liver function, so treatment should start at a lower dosage and be closely monitored. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension or heart rhythm irregularities may occur, and if overdose is suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. Store this medication in a tightly closed container away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, and keep it out of reach of children. Possible interactions may occur when taken with other medications, so be sure to inform healthcare professionals if you are taking other drugs.
Urticaria, facial edema, angioedema, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, severe allergic reactions, high fever with severe rash, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, severe skin reactions, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), severe lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), serious neurological symptoms (dizziness, fainting, worsened cerebral infarction), significantly reduced urine output, acute kidney failure
