This medicine is used to manage blood pressure effectively through additional treatment when blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy due to essential hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended adult dose is 80 mg of valsartan/12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide, taken once daily with a small amount of water regardless of meals. For patients prescribed 160 mg of valsartan/12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide for blood pressure reduction, the same applies.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus, particularly in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to this drug or its components, or with certain severe liver or kidney disorders, should not take this medication. Caution is advised when administering this drug to patients with electrolyte imbalances or impaired kidney function, and it should be used with particular caution in elderly patients or those with heart disease.
